This is jazz vocals in the grand tradition of flawless singing and musical performances, filled with verve and style, and excellent production values. With the directness and beauty of this CD collection, it should be up for some awards.

Linda Tate has the perfect jazz voice. She is a singer’s singer.

Accompanying Linda Tate are some fine musicians. Bradley Williams on piano, Doug Scharf on trumpet, gifted vocalist Joanie Pallatto singing with Linda Tate on the song “In A Mellow Tone,” and many other artists whose input into this outstanding collection make it a winner in all ways.

There are sixteen songs in the collection. Here is a sampling of some of the Ellington songs: “Love You Madly,” “I Let A Song Go Out Of My Heart,” “I’m Just A Lucky So and So,” “Sophisticated Lady,” “Cotton Tail,” “Just Squeeze Me,” “In A Sentimental Mood,” and “Daydream.”
