Time, Seasons & the Moon
-- A Jazzy Costume Party
October 31, 2002
A Benefit for Thresholds and Educational World Charities
Featuring a Concert by Linda Tate with the Bradley Williams Quartet
What a great way to spend Halloween! The Chicago Cultural Center
was decorated in a festive way (including but not limited to huge
spiders on the walls of the G.A.R. Rotunda) and our party was the
icing on the cake! The concert was wonderful and included a guest
appearance by jazz vocalist, Joanie Pallatto. We had the audience
up on its feet by the end! Guests came into town all the way from
California, Iowa and Tennessee to enjoy the evening. Those who
came in costume were eligible to win great prizes and three lucky
people did. See the pictures below!
Thanks to Jennifer Girard for photography. The delicious buffet,
hors d’oeuvres and bar service were provided by Food for
Thought Catering, Inc. Luscious desserts were donated by Jennifer
Alesi of Heavenly Creations, Inc. Coffee was compliments of Starbucks
and the beer was compliments of Goose Island. Thanks to Susan Larence
and the staff at the Chicago Cultural Center, to our wonderful
sponsors, Southwest Airlines and Southport Records, to our program
book advertisers, to our delightful volunteers and to all the generous
people who donated items for the silent auction.
If you missed the party this year, don’t worry. We’re
going to be back on Friday evening, October 17, 2003 at the Chicago
Cultural Center with Under the Spell of Ellington – A
concert featuring the music of Duke Ellington and celebrating the
release
of Linda’s new CD, We Speak Duke. The concert
will feature Linda Tate with Bradley Williams and his Original
21st Century Review.
